Rescue, Foster, Adopt

We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to rescuing severely neglected, abused and abandoned dogs. Committed to rehabilitating them, training them, and placing them in loving and forever homes. Part of our mission is to train eligible rescue dogs as service dogs to military veterans. This is a service that is provided for free for those who have served our country. We do rely on donations to continue to make this possible.  We rely on help from friends, family, and our community. If you are able and willing to make a tax deductible donation, or to foster one of our dogs while we find the perfect forever home for them, please check the links below.   • Sponsor an Animal

    If you are not in the position to foster or adopt. Sponsoring an animal is another great way in being a part of animal's Freedom Journey. The sponsoring contribution helps offset everyday living expenses of animals while in foster waiting for their forever home - food, preventatives, toys, etc. You can also choose to be a medical sponsor for a dog who has more extensive medical needs.

  • Understanding The Rule of 3's

    The rule of 3’s is CRUCIAL when adopting a pet. We ask that you consider the rule of 3’s before deciding to adopt. Make sure you are ready for that commitment. We take this very seriously and ask that you do as well. Animals require time to adjust and decompress. It doesn't happen overnight and requires understanding and time.

    Here at A Freedom Journey we believe that no animal should endure the pain and suffering of abandonment and neglect. We work endlessly to provide care, comfort and compassion to animals. We work to engage the hearts, hands, and minds of our community to end to the neglect and mistreatment of animals.
